ABOUT CALLIE SORCE

Callie Sorce is an alumna of the University of Illinois School of Music with a Bachelor of Arts in music from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. She was a student of saxophonists, Professor Debra Richtmeyer & Dr. J. Michael Holmes, and studied electroacoustic music with Professor Emeritus of Music Composition, Scott A. Wyatt.

Callie then graduated in 2017 from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) with an MFA in sound design. Her work at SCAD has given her opportunities to work on numerous projects in a variety of sound editorial positions, from animation to live action, all the way to VR. She was selected as 1 of 16 student participants for the "Experience Orlando" program in 2016, where she spent one week in the entertainment capital of the world, networking with Imagineers and immersing herself backstage at the Walt Disney World Resort. She was later offered a position at the Disneyland Resort as a Technical Direction & Audio Design intern for Spring 2018 that allowed her to fulfill her long-held dream of working at a Disney park.

After the conclusion of her internship in Anaheim, Callie moved to the Los Angeles area and began working as a freelance sound editor for film & TV. She actively learned about the audio post-production industry during her time working as a receptionist at Technicolor, and thoroughly enjoyed working on the Paramount Studios lot. During her time there, she was mentored by a handful of sound supervisors, sound editors, and mixers, and received feedback on her work.

Callie recently returned to grad school in Fall 2022 to pursue her MA in psychology at Pepperdine University.
